Doctor Who 30 Day Challenge:Day 4
Day 4: Favorite Character
Well other than The Doctor which I think is an obvious first for most people, I’d have to go with Captain Jack. I love John Barrowman soooooooooo much and I think he definitely filled the biggest role in the show without being a true “companion”. Of course he got to travel with The Doctor but I think its regrettable that he didn’t get the same treatment as some of the others like Rose, Donna, and Martha. In the episode “Utopia” when The Doctor has to explain to Jack why he left him, I felt so bad for Jack. And I suppose I felt bad for The Doctor too at that point because he realized that it might have been his fault that Jack can never die. Anyway, here is one of my favorite Jack scenes.

I am under the impression that Doctor Who needed a lot more of Captain Jack hugging people :D

Day 3 - Favorite Villain/Monster/Alien
While obviously, I have many favorites in this category I think my favorite of all is the Vashta Nerada. I chose to pick them out of all the other obvious choices like the Daleks and Cybermen simply because “Silence In The Library” and “Forest of the Dead” were my first two Doctor Who episodes and I found them to be incredibly scary while also being incredibly fascinating at the same time. I still never fail to “Count the shadows” to make sure a person is still alive :D. The scene where The Doctor is finally confronting them to give him more time to help is such a fantastic scene. It shows that while he certainly was scared of them as well, he knew what he had to do to stop them just like always. THESE ARE OUR FORESTS. (and here is a clip of the aforementioned scene)
*edit: I can’t seem to find a working clip of that scene but its the one where he says, “I’m The Doctor and you’re in the biggest library in the universe…look me up.”
Doctor Who 30 Day Challenge:Day 2
Day 2: Favorite Companion
Donna. Freakin’. Noble. Needless to say, Catherine Tate is a genius when it comes to acting so it should come as no surprise that her portrayal of Donna makes her my favorite companion. She and David Tennant worked so well together to bring together Donna’s story from Runaway Bride all the way up through The End of Time Part 2. I didn’t almost cry when Rose left (or was gone, whatever you like). I had a feeling that Martha would always be OK without The Doctor. But Donna had a very different story where The Doctor had to deal with everything he had done with her and all their memories together, but she couldn’t enjoy them with him in the end. Donna’s family is also one of my favorite parts of Doctor Who. Wilf is the man! Anyway, here is one of my favorite Donna scenes of all time. It’s from The Unicorn and the Wasp.
